The Elite Drivo II essentially follows the same sound levels as the original Elite Drivo. It's a tiny bit less loud than the Direto, only because the Drivo II has less of a fan/flywheel wind noise. But that's really just an incredible nuance. Either way, your fan is still going to be louder.

It's direct drive (meaning, you take off your rear wheel), and it's fully electronically controlled. They've upped numerous specs on it compared to past trainers, most notably around accuracy. I've had the trainer since July, and have had a fair bit of time using and testing it. And overall, I've come away quite impressed on a number of levels.

This does make it ill-suited to ERG workouts that incorporate very short intervals (10 seconds or less). Elite will work with purchasers to fine-tune the gradient change speed, but I have left it as it is.

In my test, descending at 50+ mph, noise level peaked at 56 decibels while pedaling at 20mph, noise level peaked at 54 decibels.
